Mark Sarvas reads at St. Mitchell’s Books & Books

My buddy Mark Sarvas is reading from his novel Harry Revised today (Saturday) at Books & Books, my hometown independent bookstore, and the place my mom took me in my teens when she announced I was old enough to “stop reading garbage.”

So much has been said about the store and its founder, Miami Book Fair mastermind Mitchell Kaplan, that there’s not much to add — apart from these photos reader Albert Wessel graciously contributed.

Miami peeps, if you’re up for a drive to Coral Gables this afternoon, stop by and tell Mark I sent you. The reading starts at 5. I wish I could be there to see everybody and celebrate with a big Cuban meal afterward; nobody knows how to make maduros Miami-Cuban-style in these parts.
