Judge orders immediate halt to warrantless wiretapping

A U.S. District Judge ruled in Detroit today that the National Security Agency’s warrantless wiretapping — authorized by the Bush administration — violates the free speech and privacy guarantees of the U.S. Constitution. She ordered an immediate halt to the program. (Thanks, Matt.)
