Beverly Cleary turns 90 on April 12. She talks with NPR’s Debbie Elliott about Ramona the Pest and her other classic children’s novels.

The books, “with precious little side merchandising,” have found an audience since the 1950s. But now there’s “word of a Ramona movie in 2007.” (Apparently someone already created a ‘Ramona’ TV series starring Sarah Polley.)
