Happy weekend

In honor of the deadline-shackled Annie Reid, I bring you Heddatron, an adaptation of Hedda Gabler, starring robots.

Let me repeat that. Hedda Gabler. With robots.

Look, I’m not saying their thespian range would’ve matched Cate Blanchett’s, or that Ibsen would’ve approved, or that I’m not as troubled by the mechanization of our culture as the next doomsday fantasist. But I melt for robots. So I’m pissed that I didn’t know about the show — which was actually affordable, and played less than a mile from the cubicle farm — until it closed. (Damn you, George Murray.)

Annie returns next Friday. And I’ll be back soon.
