2006 Million Writers Award

StorySouth launched its Million Writers Award two years ago “to show that world-class fiction is being published online and to promote this fiction to the larger reading and literary community.”

Randa Jarrar’s “You Are A 14-Year-Old Arab Chick Who Just Moved To Texas” won top honors in 2004. Last year’s prize went to Alicia Gifford for “Toggling the Switch.”

Anyone can nominate fiction for the award, but entries are limited to stories that appeared in an online literary journal or magazine in 2005. First prize is $300.
