Behold the illustrated Elements of Style.

I suspect I’ll prefer the severe, unadorned version. The better for students to grasp what usage challenges lie before them. (Why, in my day, starting a sentence with “however” when you really meant “nevertheless”….)

But George Murray of Bookninja puts in a good word for the artist, Maira Kalman, and her children’s books.
