A.L. Kennedy on political writing and fiction publishing

Prior MaudNewton.com interviewee A.L. Kennedy is writing a new book inspired by the Iraq war. “It’s a historical novel set in World War II but it will reflect the other war,” she said at the Frankfurt Book Fair, while reportedly “half-jok[ing] that the only good that authors achieved by voicing their political opinions was comforting like-minded readers.”

Kennedy also makes an appearance at The Huffington Post today, offering blunt publishing advice for aspiring writers. (Second link via Bookslut.)
