Remains of the day, crankpot edition

This post was written by regular Friday blogger Annie Reid.

  • This weekend, help reshelve Orwell’s 1984, with help from Jane McGonigal and the Ministry of Reshelving. Accessories available for download.
  • Jonathan Ames laments the body Jonathan, via Slate.
  • Best idea ever after selling individually wrapped cigarettes in bars: book vending machines, in Paris. No matter the time of day, “The Wok Cookbook” or “Alice in Wonderland” are available to you, for a few mere francs. I don’t know anybody who hasn’t been caught in a bind with a wok and a handful of bok choy at three in the morning, so it’s a bit of a godsend.
