Southern-fried religion

Searching for the Wrong-Eyed Jesus, a documentary based on the music of “former born-again Pentecostal/drug addict/cab driver turned singer-songwriter” Jim White and featuring writer Harry Crews, will be released theatrically in NYC on July 13th at the new (unfortunately projectionists’ union-busting) IFC Center on 6th Avenue.

If you won’t or can’t make it to the IFC, White’s also slated to play a show at Joe’s Pub the following night, July 14th, and you can listen to excerpts from the film online.
