Short stories — and rockabilly

David Sedaris has collected his favorite short stories, including Lorrie Moore’s “People Like that Are the Only People Here,” in a new anthology, Children Playing Before a Statue of Hercules. Sedaris and Moore appeared together on today’s Leonard Lopate Show to talk about the anthology in anticipation of tonight’s 826 reading at Cooper Union, co-hosted by Sedaris and Sarah Vowell, and featuring Moore, Charles Baxter, and other short story writers.

Also on today’s Leonard Lopate show: Wanda Jackson, Queen of Rockabilly. She performs tonight as part of Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night Swing series.
