Hemingway’s former bar gets special smoking dispensation

Florida’s state legislature “bent over backwards to help out Ernest Hemingway’s old drinking hole, Sloppy Joe’s in Key West. Legislators exempted the bar from the constitutional mandate banning smoking, although not by name. Any other bar on the National Register of Historic Places that makes less than 20 percent of its earnings from food could let its patrons light up, too. (There just aren’t any.)”

So if you were planning to participate in the 2005 Papa Look-Alike Contest, you can be that much more authentic.
