Reluctant announcement

I couldn’t possibly be more clueless about these things, but my hosting service has notified me that I’m exceeding my bandwidth, or CPU minutes, or something.

(No thanks to those of you at Democratic Underground and Total Nirvana who were stealing my bandwidth by running images off my site. You’ll be sorry next time, when I replace them with photos of your face after I’ve smashed it repeatedly against the sidewalk.)

Support staffers at Dreamhost are trying to figure out whether the problem originates with one of the scripts I’m running, or whether the site is generating too much traffic for shared hosting.

Bottom line: the cost for a dedicated server is $99/month, or a cool $1000+/year. Too rich for my $14.99/month bargain basement, shared hosting blood.

All suggestions are welcome.
