  • I mentioned last week that The Atlantic is discontinuing fiction in the main magazine and will publish an annual newsstand fiction issue. The New York Timesbrief report on the subject reminds me that I never got around to mentioning an observation from a regular correspondent (who shall remain anonymous): “Mark my words: When Mike Curtis retires, so will the new annual.”
