Lebowitz and Oates to discuss writer’s block

Peter Kramer* plans to host a segment on writer’s block for NPR’s The Infinite Mind.

According to the site, guests will include “the rarely blocked” Joyce Carol Oates, “the famously blocked” Fran Lebowitz, and Aimee Mann.

Background reading:

  • “How to tell if your child is a writer”

* Kramer argues in his forthcoming book that depression is a disease we should focus on eradicating. It should come as no surprise to regular readers of this site that I gravitate toward equally reductive, but opposing, arguments — arguments like: the pursuit of happiness is futile (reproduced here) and happiness is a personality flaw (reproduced here).
