Tournament update

If you’ve been following The Morning News’ Tournament of Books, you now know what books Mark Sarvas, Jessa Crispin, and I were asked to judge. (Details appear in the site’s side column.)

And by the time you read this, or soon afterward, you’ll be able to find out whether Danny Gregory picked Tom Wolfe’s I Am Charlotte Simmons or Jonathan Ames’ Wake Up, Sir!. (I haven’t read the Wolfe, but longtime readers know that I’m a sucker for Ames’ writing.)

Newsweek has listed the tournament on its checklist, and forwarded email suggests that writers nearly started placing bets when they learned of the contest while at my alma mater’s writers’ festival last week.
