Updike on his latest

Like V S Naipaul, John Updike is in his 70s — but he won’t be giving up writing any time soon, although he doesn’t seem at all concerned about being cutting-edge. He says that his latest effort, Villages, is “more of the same.” Guess he’s the Ralph Lauren of literature.
