More Michiko, this time on baseball

Weirdly, Michiko Kakutani is now writing about baseball for the Times. “Drawing morals from the narrative” in overwrought prose, she discusses the “mythic sense” of the Yankees (the “most storied franchise in sports history”) and the “poetic justice” of their “epic loss.” I guess if the food guy can write about books (expect a switch from the frequent use of the word “liminal” to the word “tangy”) the book lady can write about baseball. Does this mean the baseball guy is switching to the food beat? Maybe sports bar cuisine will be the next big thing.

Thanks, Alex.
