Art Spiegelman interview

In an interview with Toronto’s NOW magazine, Art Spiegelman talks about the Bush administration’s “hijacking of the hijacking” after 9/11 and how the news media “abdicated their responsibilities.” He also says, “In hindsight, I wish I had fought for social justice for 25 or 30 years rather than for the legitimacy of comics. Considering how successful I’ve been with comics, maybe I could have done more good if I’d picked a bigger target.”

For those of you in Toronto, Spiegelman will appear at the Harbourfront Centre tonight.
