A Dutch student has scanned and uploaded Alice’s Adventures Under Ground, the precursor to Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. (Via Boing Boing.)
According to the Guardian, Lewis Carroll (Charles Ludwidge Dodgson) “invented his pen name by translating his first two names, Charles Ludwidge, into the Latin ‘Carolus Lodovicus’ and then anglicising it into ‘Lewis Carroll’.”
Here’s the text of Carroll’s poem “The Hunting of the Snark.” And if you’re really looking to kill time, here’s a Wonderland word search.
