Advice for giving readings

The redoubtable Terry Teachout offers up some good advice for authors embarking on their first readings:

(6) Don’t read from a printed copy of the book.Not only does it look awkward, even unprofessional, but too many things can go wrong (i.e., dropping the book and losing your place).
