Confederacy of Dunces director booted, now attached to Secret Life of Bees, more

Daily Variety announces that plans for David Gordon Green “to tackle the long-stalled film of cult novel A Confederacy of Dunces appear to have receded.” Now he’s attached to write and direct feature adaptations of Sue Monk Kidd’s The Secret Life of Bees and Brad Land’s Goat. On the other side of the pond, The Belfast Telegraph reports that Rupert Thomson, one of my favorite contemporary British novelists, is working on a screenplay of his novel Soft!.
