Word that should be stricken from the English language:  “e-book”

Wired reports on Greatamericannovel.com, in an article entitled “A Whodunit for the Digital Age“:

Cybersnoops, aspiring Web detectives and electronic voyeurs searching for a new kind of fix might find it in an emerging form of e-book fiction with a twist: the digital epistolary novel, or DEN. Created by Greatamericannovel.com, a DEN reveals its story line through a series of simulated e-mails, Web pages and instant messages.

The prospect of reading an entire novel online makes my eyes hurt, but this spin on the traditional epistolary form shows promise. Too bad the stories aren’t any good. (Via Arts Journal.)
