Tourists in Scotland offered kitsch, not literature

Somebody forgot to update the Scottish tourism industry on current literary writers in Scotland:

Only a short walk away on the tourist trail … is the National Gallery of Scotland. It offers a superb selection of art books, as you’d expect, yet this intelligent, upmarket display is marred by a smattering of Scottish general-interest titles, namely: Ye Cannae Shove yer Granny aff a Bus; Our Wee School wis a Rare Wee School; Away an ask yer Mother; and a handful of miniature books on scones and the bagpipes. Such kitsch sits alongside the other titles like a skateboard at a grand prix, a demeaning sliver of tartan tat
