Round-up

I was as unsure as many of you about the Believer, but I found good articles in the first two issues, and last night I picked up the latest. I think it’s the best yet. I read that ULA article I mentioned yesterday. I agreed with most of what Tom Bissell had to say, and I liked the way he said it, although I don’t believe that all writers are equal “outsiders.” The Birnbaum interview with Jamaica Kincaid is gold.

Some writers I admire, including Stephany Aulenback and John Warner, are being published in an upcoming issue of 3rd Bed. It had been a couple of years since I read an issue, so last night I had a look at the latest one. It included a compelling story by Tara Wray called “Love Is a Thing that Wakes Up in the Middle of the Night & Burns Down the House.”

Details about the Mississippi Review‘s annual contest are up. Monkeybicycle has a new look.
