Richard Ford to win “Evil Companions Literary Award”

Richard Ford will receive the “2004 Evil Companions Literary Award,” which is a regular literary award honoring writers from, or writing about, the West and not a special prize awarded for the author’s recent shenanigans. Ford made the news last month when he spat on fellow writer Colson Whitehead after nursing a two-year grudge over Whitehead’s unfavorable review of Ford’s most recent short story collection.
