Last week Ms. Bookish bestowed a “bad pun of the week award” upon Shakespeare: the Bard Game. But after becoming unexpectedly caught up in playing, she returned the next day with a glowing testimonial:
Now it may just be the combination of being English lit geeks, former theatre buddies and confirmed board games aficionados, but my friends and I had the time of our lives trying to outdo each other. We added the optional rule of having to actually perform something whilst engaged in the in-game activity of “busking”. This led to halting quasi-sonnets trying to incorporate the the Great Vowel Shift (“love, dove, prove”), touching renditions of “Sigh No More Ladies” (from Much Ado, of course) and … miming.
