Events and ‘zines

From the Open City website: Every Sunday night, at Black & White, the Antagonist Movement presents fahrenheit, an open slam of narrative fiction and non-fiction. Each participant has five minutes to tell a story; winners are decided by crowd vote and will be invited back for the best-of-show every other month. Sign-up begins at 6 p.m., and the show begins at 11 p.m.

(Personally, I only like to read when I’ve been invited, since I don’t like to subject potentially hostile strangers to my work. But it’s a great idea, and I know some of you would be into it and good at it.)

Open City is hosting a launch party for Issue #16 on Wednesday, December 18, from 7-10 p.m. at the Pioneer Bar. A $10 donation entitles you to drinks and a copy of the magazine.

Also worth noting: new stuff has been published at 3AM Magazine this week, and new issues of Outsider Ink, Insolent Rudder, Pig Iron Malt and Literary Potpourri are online.
