Bad literary homages

A few days ago, Maud mentioned the “Edgar Allen Poe” pizza and asked for votes for worst literary homage.

My vote? The casting of Michael Jackson as Edgar Allen Poe. Let’s imagine that for a moment, shall we?

Michael moondancing through the Rue Morgue, pointing a silver begloved hand at the floor, crying out, “TRUE! — nervous — very, very dreadfully nervous I had been and am; but why WILL you say that I am mad?”

What’s that faint sound coming from the floorboards? That rhythmic, terrible sound? Could it be? Yes! It is! “Billie Jean”!

“Villains!” I shrieked, “dissemble no more! I admit the deed! –tear up the planks! here, here!”

Works, doesn’t it? Nevertheless, thank God this project is dead. Quoth the Raven, “Nevermore.”

If that’s not enough homage to make you want to get Raven Drunk, then I don’t know what is.
