Arts online

Today’s New York Times profiles Douglas McLennan and his site, Arts Journal. McLennan isn’t terribly afraid that publications will begin charging customers to view online content:

“It’s not particularly in their interest to cut us off,” Mr. McLennan said. “I can be their biggest deliverer of traffic.”

John Rockwell, author of the Times piece, seems troubled by the fact that McLennan doesn’t recognize the greater public awareness of A&L Daily.

For his part, McLennan believes that Arts Journal is “the best arts section in the world.” (Link via, um, Arts Journal.)
