Groups sue to stop warrantless domestic spying

The ACLU and another civil liberties group are seeking an injunction to prohibit the U.S. government from spying on domestic communications without warrants.

Yesterday Al Gore urged telecommunications companies to stop “provid[ing] the government with access to private information concerning the communications of Americans without a proper warrant.” Today Tapped wonders whether there could be legal consequences for “private companies involved in the illegal surveillance.”
