More Beckett for Babies

May 14, 2004 | Comments Off

A friend and I are working on a mock-up of the Beckett for Babies board book and we need appropriate (read cute and amusing not upsetting) snapshots of babies and toddlers looking bemused, concerned, or confused. We’ve been combing the image banks for suitable images but unfortunately we’ve found that most of the photographs look too glossy and perfect, and the children too happy, for our purposes. The best photos we’ve found are polaroids of my little brother, taken in the 70s. If you’ve got a fun photograph of yourself or a relative as a discontented or disconcerted child and you’re willing to share, we’d love to see it. For instance, I’d love to have a shot of a perplexed toddler sitting in front of a birthday cake to go with the text “I must be happy… it is less pleasant than I should have thought.” Please email me at stephka at maudnewton.com.
